At this level, you will never be in water deeper than you can stand up, so there’s no chance of getting held underwater or sucked out to sea during your first surf lesson. During your Malibu surf lessons, after 5-10 minutes of instruction on the beach, you will learn to walk out through the gentle rolling waves, catch the white water, and ride back into the beach. You will learn how and when to catch the waves, balancing, turning, and how to fall safely during your Malibu surfing lessons offered at Malibu beach. After an hour or so, most people will be able to catch and ride waves on their own.
